FLORENCE LOEWY
Paris • France

For over thirty years, Florence Loewy has been developing a singular project at the intersection of books and contemporary art, emphasizing experimental and conceptual forms. From the outset, she has adopted a resolutely prospective position, attentive to both emerging artists and works that are difficult to classify. Her commitment to the fields of artists editions and publications, notably through an exceptional collection of rare and historic artists’ books, forms the basis of a recognized work of discovery, carried out in parallel with a rigorous program of exhibitions. Established in Le Marais district since 2001, the gallery inaugurated its space — both bookshop and exhibition space — distinguished by the architectural intervention of the Jakob+MacFarlane duo.
Florence Loewy has collaborated with artists such as General Idea, Michel François, Robert Barry, Claude Closky, Lawrence Weiner and Barbara Bloom. She now represents: Joan Ayrton, Romain Bobichon, Valentin Guillon, Charlie Hamish Jeffery, Sara MacKillop, Tim Maul, Silvana Mc Nulty, Caroline Reveillaud, Francesc Ruiz, Erik van der Weijde. More recently, she has collaborated with Lucille Ulrich, Chloé Quenum, Clémentine Adou, Céline Vaché-Olivieri, Manoela Prates, David Posth-Kohler, José Quintanar and guest curators such as Franck Balland.
