Éditions Incertain Sens
Saint-Senoux • France
Founded in 2000, Éditions Incertain Sens is a publishing house specializing in artists’ publications, around which it develops various research initiatives. In 2006, the press launched the Cabinet du Livre d’Artiste: a specialized library, reading space, and exhibition venue, coordinated by Aurélie Noury until 2022, and now managed by the Joint Documentation Service of the University of Rennes 2. The association’s goal is to support the production of artists’ publications and to champion their presence in the publishing and artistic worlds.
Born out of an academic context, Éditions Incertain Sens stimulates research in aesthetics, documentation, and the history of print through exhibitions, conferences, educational programs, and its catalog. The house brings together reissues of historical works, projects by young artists, the journal Sans Niveau Ni Mètre, and the “Collection grise”, and is entirely devoted to the theoretical approach to this medium.
