Cheryel

Cheryel (Chérine + Feryel = BFF) was born from love at first sight, at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2021. “She’s like me and I’m like her,” they both thought, “queer, cyberfeminist, man-hating, and Franco-Algerian.” Together as Cheryel, they express themselves in fluorescent pink prints, semi-autobiographical texts, and random stickers, wielding both pen and risography like mistresses. They draw inspiration from 2000s kitsch, hyperfem girlypop aesthetics, and the memes ingested by their withered brains as they wait around for femme fatales.
