Laurent Pellissier’s paintings and sculptures, populated by queer and supernatural creatures, evoke the night, the city, the desire, the forest. His new series of small ink drawings and monotypes, as well as Papier-mâché sculptures in large and small formats, just like his paintings, make unruly references to German Expressionism, Japanese cartoons, and 80s pornography alike—swinging between humour and horror, melancholy and sensuality, kawaii and grotesque.
