Zavod P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E.

Zavod P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. is an independent non-profit cultural producer and publisher that has operated for the past 29 years in Ljubljana, Slovenia. In 2004, they launched a program focused on artist books and editions, and started to collaborate with known international artists and artist-groups.

The working philosophy of the Zavod P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. is based on ideas and strategies of adaptability, flexibility, intersections of disciplines and discourses, collaboration, exchange and critical approach.

In recent years, they have prepared a number of research projects that deal with the topics of locality, language and ideology, participation, alternative energy sources, informal models of economy, transformation of public spaces, and overlooked artistic phenomena from the past.

Their mission is to exchange new ideas, and promote innovative and challenging models in current art and culture, both locally and internationally.
