ÉDITIONS TROUBLE – CENSORED MAGAZINE

Founded in 2018 by two sisters, Apolline and Clémentine Labrosse, Censored documents contemporary art, culture and activism through a feminist and queer lens. Bringing together emerging voices and little-known archives, the magazine discusses themes of violence, the body, ecology, transmission and geography. Each issue explores a theme by mixing literature, social criticism, poetry, artists’ carte blanche, photography or illustrations in order to build a living, intimate, political archive. Inspired by the Do It Yourself movements documenting the feminist avant-garde, Censored constantly seeks new ways of creating and disseminating artistic practices and knowledge, of transforming the imaginary, but also of producing in an entirely different way.
