CLAUS BOOKS
Antwerp • Belgium

Since 2016, Ines Claus creates unique books from kitchen towels and paper combining monotypes, collages and drawings, using her personal archive and found images to explore the visual narratives. The CLAUS BOOKS catalogue includes around 35 handmade books and 15 printed publications.
In Drôles d’Oiseaux (2024), she collaborated with Laurence Plumier to combine paintings and crochet sculptures, inspired by the power of fashion, subcultures and fairy tales in which the magical aura of clothing is underlined. La Sape, Paris (2023) is an alphabet magazine born out of a residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, while Carrier (2024) brings together images from the history of luxury bags and design.
At Paris Ass Book Fair, she will be presenting Accesor(r)y, a book on style, accessories and colours of fashion boutiques, in which she explores the impact of secondary objects such as bags and heels on identity and consumption.
