AREA is an independent publishing house that promotes contemporary artists and values experimental practices. AREA draws inspiration from diverse perspectives on the world, seeking to explore and reveal its nuances and ambiguities. AREA explores grounded, imaginary, or projected artistic territories. The imprint initiates book projects in close collaboration with its artists and authors, taking into account the specificities of each publication. As a research project, AREA continually explores new ways to interact with the printed object. AREA was conceived by Laure-Anne Kayser, founder of Bureau Kayser.
