ABC [Artists’ Books Cooperative]

ABC [Artists’ Books Cooperative] is an international group of artists who experiment with the form of the book, and promote alternative forms of distribution through collaboration. Alongside individual practices, they work together on collective projects—a museum made entirely of publications, an amorphous office space, a rubber stamped exploration of chance and coexistence.

The cooperative has run since 2009, with members coming and going (and sometimes coming back again!) since then. At fairs, they sell a range of works from their artists, whether present or otherwise. Currently they are made up of 22 members: Arnaud Desjardin, Elsa Werth, Claudia de la Torre, David Schulz, Joey Chin, Duncan Wooldridge, George Gibson, John MacLean, Jonathan Lewis, Jonathan Schmidt-Ott, Louis Porter, Micheál O’Connell/MOCKSIM, Mishka Henner, Monika Orpik, Oliver Griffin, Rahel Zoller, Travis Shaffer, Jessica Williams, Hwang Eunyoung, Wil van Iersel, Karla Zorrilla, and Lucy Helton.
