Talking about what we don’t talk about - Paris Ass Book Fair

Talking about what we don’t talk about is talking about the if, the what, the how, the why, the Internet researches we do in secret, at night, in our beds, what we’ll only talk about once, on a summer evening, with our current BFF, lying on the couch, a glass of wine in hand. Talking about these shames that make us laugh now, these endless soliloquies that accompany us under the shower. Talking about what we don’t talk about, like the fear of death, our obsessions, the lack of money, the black holes. Talking about what generates the complexity of our relationships, our jealousies, our failures, our sabotages, and the big theory that overhangs and censors the fantastic banality of our existences. Talking about what we don’t talk about is this movie that we tell ourselves we’re in, as teenagers, as we listen to some cheesy 2000s pop music, watching the landscape unfold before our eyes from the pink and blue armchair of our train or our old Mercedes. In this movie, we discover our ambiguous egos, our imposture syndromes, our desire to succeed and our attempts to believe in ourselves, even though it’s not going well – even if on Insta, it’s going well.
