Tom de Pekin

Tom de Pekin is an artist, graphic designer, draughtsman, painter, and director. At Paris Ass Book Fair he presents a series of editions based on the appropriation of images. They can be intimate, anonymous or part of a common culture, they constitute a personal archive that the artist likes to explore, deploy and use in all its forms. Tom de Pekin presents the original image he used with its representation, like in a game of mirrors, highlighting the space between the two, making visible the displacement of desires and emotions. This artistic practice is linked to our use of images as an outlet. It deals with the way each of us relates to their own obsessions and contradictions and conquers autonomy in a daily relationship with contemporary or older images that they appropriate and adapt to their desires. He also presents his drawn travel diaries.
