Mélanie Utzmann-North

Mélanie Utzmann-North is an illustrator who has been, for two years already, self-publishing Gossips for Breakfast, a fanzine about reality TV, celebrity and pop culture. It features absurdist fictions, extracts from theatre plays and exercises in popularising academic essays, which she presents using different types of narrative media: comics, photo novels, illustrations. She is fond of plots that take place in a not-quite-real world, a glamorous and damaged media universe. She also makes illustrations for the press (Médor, Panthère première, La brèche), and for committed associations such as L’îlot or Touche pas à ma pote.
