Bound Leather

Bound Leather, a project created by Steven Harwick, explores and documents the contemporary leather and BDSM communities through a photographic lens. While leaning on cultural history, traditional fetish imagery and technique, Bound Leather simultaneously subverts those standards by showcasing an array of people more inherently inclusive than the long-established canon. The backbone of the project, the self-published photo zine Bound Leather, has had 15 issues in circulation since its inception in 2015. Bound Leather continues to evolve to include not only photography and print publications but video and more dimensional works, such as sculpture and installation, as well.
