AREA BOOKS, run by Laure-Anne Kayser (Bureau Kayser), is an independent publishing house promoting contemporary visual artists. With a focus on experimental practice, AREA draws inspiration from timeless narratives and remote visions of our world to reveal its ambiguity. The first release was French photographer Marie Quéau’s Odds and Ends, a project supported by CNAP. The second was Photography 写真 by the Japanese photographer Koji Kitagawa, an anthology compiling the obsessive series the photographer has been producing along the last 15 years.
