Jack Tezam

Jack Tezam lives and works between Paris and the volcanoes of Auvergne, the region where he was born. He sees miniature drawing as a discipline in which the repetition of the gesture, the slowness of the process and the hyper-focus of attention it demands are all ways of accessing other worlds. By setting up various experimental devices, he is interested in the influence that the context of production can have on the drawing, and vice versa. He favours long-term projects, and his various series of drawings and photographs often take several years to complete. The book publishing process is an essential part of his practice, providing him with a means to document in detail his various experiences, alone or in community.
