Été is a zine creator who defines herself as an “asiofeminist” and works mainly on postcolonial identities, questioning the past and its impact on daily life and the future: where do we come from and where are we going? Through a mix of genres (narrative/poetry/essay and drawing/graphic/collage), she aims to convey the complexities of the lives of people from immigrant backgrounds, drawing on her personal experience as a Reunionese of Chinese origin. Through the zine experience, she hopes to create spaces that are decentred from the Western gaze, and invite individual and collective healing.
