Afterall is a research center based in Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. Founded in 1998, Afterall’s research focuses on the impact of contemporary art and its relationship to larger socio-political and historical contexts. Afterall publishes a bi-annual journal, several book series, and organizes various events, symposia, and panels around their research strands. For the PABF, Afterall presents a selection of their recent titles along with selected queer publications from ba-bau AIR with their close-knit collaborators Nhung Dinh and Nguyen Quoc Thanh about Vietnamese queer lexicon and Vietnamese queer film and moving-image heritage archive. ba-bau AIR is a collective run initiative, residency, studio, kitchen based in Hanoi, Vietnam. Since ba-bau’s Queer Month in 2021, ba-bau, Nhung and Thanh have been working and developing together in several collaborative, participatory and curated projects namely ưhưh22 (documenta15, Kassel, Germany), cruising beyond the cloud computing… (cyber space project in collaboration with Asia-Art-Activism) with many other micro works and projects.
