Wendy’s Subway

Wendy’s Subway is a reading room, a writing space, and an independent publisher that supports emerging artists and writers in making experimental, urgent work and in creating alternative modes for learning and thinking in community. The organization is dedicated to encouraging creative, critical, and discursive engagement with literature and the arts. Interdisciplinary programs offered by Wendy’s Subway include free access to texts, talks, performances, and reading groups, as well as sliding-scale access to writing workshops and intensives. Wendy’s Subway’s multi-series publishing initiative includes artist books, poetic texts, and hybrid-genre works by time-based artists. The non-circulating library holds a collection of over 3,000 titles, ranging from poetry and fiction to criticism and art books.
