Soccochico réunit une librairie, en ligne et itinérante, et une maison d’édition indépendante, fondée par Rémi Brandon. Elle est spécialisée dans les publications et les éditions épuisées, dans les domaines de l’art moderne et contemporain, les mouvements musicaux et littéraires, les groupes de protestation et l’édition underground. Il présente également des titres récents qui reflètent l’éthique de la contre-culture. Il présente Putti’s Pudding de Vittoro Scarpati et Cookie Mueller (publié par Kyoto Shoin, 1989). Livre d’artiste conçu à deux et « œuvre ultime » de l’écrivaine américaine et de son mari, l’artiste italien Vittorio Scarpati, il réunit des dessins de Scarpati accompagnés de courts textes de Mueler. Le projet fut conçu au Cabrini Medical Centre à New York où ils tous deux hospitalisés, malades du Sida dont ils moururent en 1989.
Soccochico is an online and itinerant bookshop and independent press, founded by Rémi Brandon. It specialises in out-of-print collectable publications and printed matter, and focuses on contemporary—and historic—art, music and literary movements, protest groups and underground publishing. It also presents new titles that reflect the ethos of the counterculture. Among others you can find Putti’s Pudding by Vittoro Scarpati and Cookie Mueller (published by Kyoto Shoin International, 1989). A collaborative artist’s book and “final project” by American writer Cookie Mueller and her husband, Italian artist Vittorio Scarpati. Pairing drawings by Scarpati with short texts by Mueller, the project was conceived in New York’s Cabrini Medical Centre while both were dying from AIDS related illnesses in 1989.
