16B c’est deux amies, deux colocataires, qui, sous un toit Alsacien, depuis le 16B rue de Molsheim, décident de créer leur maison d’édition, faite maison. L’une dans la branche graphique, l’autre photographique, leur lien est un intérêt commun pour les charmes de notre société contemporaine, ceux qu’on aimerait critiquer, ceux dont on rirait bien. De là naissent des publications dont les styles graphiques divergent mais qui partagent un esprit malin. Elles partagent aussi la volonté de questionner l’objet livre, sortir du format papier et y joindre un objet, dans une intervention qui soit partie intégrante de l’édition.
16B comes from two girlfriends and flatmates, who, from the same address in Alsace, at 16Brue de Molsheim, decided to set up their own home-made publishing house. While one comes from a graphic background, and the other photographic, what they share is an interest in the charms of our contemporary society, which you just want to criticise, or laugh at. This has led to the arrival of publications with varied graphic styles but with the same smart spirit. They also share a desire to examine the book as an object, moving away from the paper format and attaching an object to it, making this an integral part of publishing.
